Paris-born political scientist and sociologist Emile Boutmy lived from 13 April 1835 to 25 January 1906. He attended law school in Paris and, from 1867 to 1870, lectured at the École Spéciale d'Architecture on the history and culture of civilizations as they related to architecture.
