Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarships 2024/2025

The Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) is a program that fosters educational cooperation between countries.

The BEA for the academic year 2024/2025, this involves a new cycle of opportunities for students to participate in educational exchange programs or receive scholarships

The federal Ministry of Education, through the Federal Scholarship Board located at plot 245 Samuel Ademulegun Street central business district, Abuja has announced the opening of Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) 2024/2025 registration portal.


The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman OON, SAN, extends a cordial invitation to eligible and interested Nigerians to partake in the Federal Government Scholarship Awards for BILATERAL EDUCATION AGREEMENT (BEA) the 2024/2025 academic year. 


The application portal is scheduled to commence operations today November 25, 2023, and will conclude on January 5, 2024.


Candidates invited are:

i) Undergraduate (UG) studies tenable in Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt and Algeria


ii) Postgraduate (PG) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees   were obtained from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, Romania.


FIELDS OF STUDY 

a. Undergraduate level - Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited), Pilot Engineering, Neurologist and 


b.  Postgraduate level (master's degree and PhD) in all fields.

b. Read the instructions and fill out the form online.

c. Print the completed Application form.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA


A. UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS: 

Prospective candidates for undergraduate degree courses must meet the following criteria:

- Attainment of a minimum qualification of Seven (7) Distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

- Certificates should not be more than two (2) years old (2022 & 2023) for Non-African Countries. For African countries, the certificate's age limit is one year (2023) only.

- Applicants should be within the age range of 17 to 20 years.


B. POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS:

Applicants pursuing Postgraduate degree courses should fulfill the following requirements:

- Possession of a First Degree with 1st Class or at least 2nd Class Upper Division.

- Completion of the N.Y.S.C. Programme.

- Age limit of 35 years for master's and 40 years for Ph.D.

  - N.Y.S.C discharge or exemption certificates are accepted.

  - Submission of evidence demonstrating readiness to be released by an employer.


GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL APPLICANTS:


(i) Given that the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants must be prepared to undergo a compulsory one-year foreign language course in the chosen country, which will serve as the standard medium of instruction.


(ii) For those applying for the Hungarian Scholarship, you can apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference. Visit the website www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu, which will be open from mid-November to January 16, 2024, to complete the online application form.


(iii) Applicants for Russian scholarships should visit http://education-in-russia.com for detailed information.


(iv) Candidates applying for the Russian Postgraduate Scholarship must have obtained their first degree in Russia.


(v) All necessary documents for the Russian application portal should be appropriately scanned in PDF format.


(vi) All applicants are required to upload the following certificates online:


   a. UNDERGRADUATE (UG): WAEC/WASSCE & NIN Slip


   b. POSTGRADUATE (PG): 1st Degree Certificate, NIN Slip & NYSC discharge or exemption Certificate.


NB: Candidates nominated by the Board will need to submit the following to the Federal Scholarship Board:


   - Authenticated copies of academic certificates

   - Data page of the current international passport

   - Specified medical reports from government hospitals

   - Birth certificate and indigene letter

   - Police clearance certificate where necessary.
