University Twente Scholarships, or UTS for short, are awarded to outstanding students from EU/EEA countries as well as nations outside of the EU/EEA who wish to enroll in a graduate program (MSc) at the University of Twente.

Scholarship amount and time commitment

The amount of the scholarship for one year fluctuates anywhere from € 3,000 to € 22,000. 

In the event that a student enrolls in a study program that spans two years, they have the opportunity to obtain an additional UTS of an amount that is equivalent to that which they received for the first year if they satisfy the criteria for the UTS.




Eligibility

Candidates must satisfy all of the qualifications outlined in the following list in order to be considered for a UTS position:

• The application process for a UT scholarship is conducted in a manner that is distinct from the process for enrolling in courses at the University of Twente. Obtaining an entrance letter is the initial step, and it does not matter how much cash you have.


• You have been granted (provisional) admission to one of the eligible Master's programs at UT, to begin in the academic year 2023/2024. (September). Please take into consideration that after submitting your application in its entirety, you may not find out the results for up to 8 weeks.


• You are need to have a student identification number.


• You have not completed a graduate program at UT and received your degree;


• You are in compliance with the requirements necessary to get an entry visa for the Netherlands (if one is required);


• You are in compliance with the requirement for the general English language test Academic IELTS score of 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT score of 90), in addition to a score of 6.0 (TOEFL iBT score of 20) on the speaking skills subscore.


• You do not qualify for a student loan to study in the Netherlands;


• The University of Twente Scholarship is awarded to outstanding students who are enrolled at the university. The majority of the time, this indicates that you are among the top 5 to 10 percent of your class.




Instructions for submitting an application

To begin, you will need to submit an application for a Master's program. 

You will be able to submit an application for the scholarship using your student number when you have submitted an application for a Master's program and received a letter of (conditional) acceptance. 

The application period for Round 1 begins on 15 October 2022, and the deadline for Round 1 applications is 1 February 2023. The application period for Round 2 begins on 1 February 2023, and the deadline for Round 2 applications is 1 May 2023.
