Brief description


Students from other countries who demonstrate financial need and who intend to enroll in First, Single, or Second Cycle Degree Programs at the University of Bologna during the Academic Year 2023/2024 are eligible to receive study grants from the university as well as full tuition fee waivers.

The intended audience: Students from other countries whose academic credentials were earned at an educational establishment that is not part of the Italian educational system, irrespective of their citizenship.


Award:  €11,059 to €80,000 depending on your chosen program.



Scholarship amount and time commitment:


• For First Cycle and Single Cycle degree programs, a total of €20,000 in complete tuition price waivers and three study grants each worth €11,059 (Unibo Action 2) are available (Unibo Action 1).


• For degree programs in the Second Cycle, there will be 15 study grants with a value of €11.059 each (Unibo Action 2) as well as full tuition price waivers for a total amount of €80,000. (Unibo Action 1).


Each Unibo Action 2 study grant is only good for one academic year and has a total value of €11,059 (gross of all costs for the beneficiary's account). These funds are given on a competitive basis.


The full tuition waivers that are provided as part of the Unibo Action 1 program are only good for one academic year. 

Students who are given the exemptions are responsible for paying a total of €157.04 in regional taxes, the duty stamp, and the insurance cost (amount subject to change).




Eligibility


Only applicants meeting the following criteria may submit an application:

1) Have completed at least two years of study at an institution outside of the Italian education system or in an Italian institute located outside of Italy in order to be eligible for admission to the selected First, Single, or Second Cycle degree program. 

These qualifications must be issued by the institution. If a one-year title is required for admission, then both the current and previous qualifications will be taken into consideration. 

The Republic of San Marino's educational establishments do not have the authority to grant qualifications, hence those qualifications will not satisfy this criteria. The citizenship of the petitioner is not taken into consideration;


2) fulfill the prerequisites for admission to the chosen degree program, or demonstrate that they will do so prior to registering for the program;


3) They must not currently be enrolled at the University of Bologna in any of its degree programs for the First, Single, or Second Cycles. 


Hot Tips! People are no longer recognized to be students if their time spent in school, whether for a First, Single, or Second Cycle degree program, came to an end within the academic year 2022-23. 


All withdrawals from studies must have been finalized prior to the release of this call for participation;


4) have not previously received a benefit from either the Unibo Action 2 research grant or the Unibo Action 1 waiver;


5) Have not reached the age of 30 by the time the application deadline has passed.

The application period has currently ended for the 2022/23.


According to the information provided in the call for applications, submissions of applications must be made no later than the 31 March 2023 for Second Cycle Programs or the 29 April 2023 for First or Single Cycle Programs exclusively through Studenti Online.
