For international students wishing to study abroad, France is a popular option. Living and studying in France is not always affordable, though.

While annual tuition at public universities ranges from €200 to €600, at private universities it can reach €10,000. 

The annual average for living expenses is €10,000. Thankfully, there are several French scholarships available for international students.

Nelson Mandela MBA Scholarships for Africans

At their 30th class reunion, the INSEAD MBA Class of '75 established the INSEAD Nelson Mandela Endowment Scholarships to honor the life and work of President Nelson Mandela of South Africa. These scholarships will provide ongoing financial assistance to one or more African students each year at INSEAD.

Up to €20,000

Eligibility:

Candidates must be citizens of a sub-Saharan African country, have lived substantially of their life, and have obtained a significant portion of their past education in Africa in order to be eligible for the Nelson Mandela Endowed Scholarship. 

Candidates with a documented need for financial help will be given preference.

Candidates for this scholarship must demonstrate the following through their interests, extracurricular activities, and achievements: 

(a) outstanding academic achievement and promise; 

(b) innate talent for business and financial management; 

(c) strong likelihood of spending the majority of their working lives in Africa; and 

(d) a steadfast commitment to the objectives of African development, understanding among peoples, and public interest. 

South African applicants are those that INSEAD will prioritize when offering scholarships to.

Guidelines for Application:

Fill up your application completely, and by the deadline, send in the mandatory essay. Both the 7 May and the 25 June 2018 are the application deadlines for the December 2019 intake.
