The École normale supérieure is a grande école university in Paris, France. It is one of the constituent members of Paris Sciences et Lettres University (PSL). Exams both written and oral make up the ENS's very difficult selection process.
Most ENS students are employed as salaried civil servants while they are enrolled in classes. It is now recognized as the top French university by the ARWU and Times, and is widely considered as the country's leading institution for higher learning and research.

For three years, a room on one of the ENS campuses will be provided together with a monthly subsidy of €1,000.
Eligibility
• To be eligible, applicants must be under 26 years.
• Applicants cannot have already submitted an application to the international selection.
• Neither the prior nor the current academic year (September 1–August 31) that the candidates are applying for must have seen them spend more than 10 months in France.
• Candidates must provide documentation supporting the completion of at least one year of undergraduate coursework in a non-French institution during the year before the application period opened.
• Candidates must demonstrate that, as of the first of September after acceptance, they have completed at least two years of undergraduate coursework at a foreign university (outside of France).
The Director of ENS may make an exception and provide permission for a candidate with an unusually strong academic background from outside of France to apply.
